Sometimes, we need to change the margin of Google documents. The process is straightforward and can be done via two methods. One method includes approaching page setup and the other uses a ruler. Let’s discuss these two methods of how to change margins in Google Docs.

Method No: 1

This method changes the margin line by selecting files on the Google Documents page. The steps for this method are given in the following:

Step: 1

On the Google document page, there is a File option in the upper left corner such that given as;

Click on the files option, it will open a page. There is an option for Page Setup at about the bottom, click on it

Step: 3

The page setup contains Margin Options for top, bottom, left, and right. There are different values on the box in front of this margins option

Step: 4

Change these values one by one according to the margin you want to keep like;

Add the value to the margins

Note: You can also change the margin line only for the top, bottom, left, and right individually.

Step: 5

After changing values, click on the Set Default option given at the end of these margin values

Press Set as Default

Step: 6

Now, Click on the OK option. You will see margin changes after this resetting

Method: 2

This method used the ruler on the Google documents to change the margin. The steps for this method are given in the following:

Step: 1

   There is an option to View on the upper left page of Google Documents. Click on it

Click on View option

After clicking multiple options will appear. One of the options is to Show the Ruler, click on it

After clicking, you can see an arrow on the upper left and right part of the page like;

Step: 4

Drag this arrow in either one direction to broaden or shorten the page margin  

Adjust the rule bar

After dragging of arrow, the margin line is changed accordingly.

Note:

Please note that the margin line can not be changed for a single page. When you make a change, it is equally carried out on all the pages.
